EEDW Higher Education Coordinator

Grant-funded position through REC-1’s federally funded Extending Equity into the Digital Workforce, a 4-year project to prepare students for high-paying jobs or continued education in information technologies, specifically cybersecurity.

The Higher Education Coordinator is primarily engaged in facilitating student access to and success in higher education courses. The Higher Education Coordinator is a member of the EEDW Executive Leadership Team.

The Higher Education Coordinator will be hired through Farmington Municipal Schools but will serve under the direction of the REC-1 project director.

Type: Employment
Annual Salary: $85,000 + fringe, pro-rated as necessary
12-month term
Location: REC-1 Program Office, Farmington, NM. May be remote upon approval, but must be located in NM.
Contingency: Grant-funded position, with anticipated 3.5 years remaining. The position is contingent upon available funding.

Responsibilities and Duties

    • Identify opportunities for online IT programs of study among NM’s 2-year colleges
    • Facilitate the development of online IT programs of study among existing HED partners to early college high schools, as needed
    • Collaborate with the EEDW ECHS Coordinator to facilitate students’ access to online IT programs and support services
    • Convene and lead an HED Work Group with representatives of partnering HEDs addressing IT program topics
    • Collaborate with HED partners to ensure quality support services for students in online IT programs of study
    • Collaborate with EEDW ECHS Coordinator on outreach to ECHS students regarding options for higher education and/or continued training
    • Track student enrollment and persistence in HED following graduation
    • Identify and mitigate difficulties with credit transferability among HEDs for students in online IT programs
    • Maintain records and collect data relevant to implementation of student access towards HED degrees and certificates and industry-recognized certificates
    • Collaborate with the EEDW Project Director, ECHS Coordinator, and Evaluation Team to promote the success of the EEDW project and advance project implementation towards meeting project objectives

Hiring Preferences

    • Master’s degree or greater in an education related field
    • 5+ years experience in higher education student programming, administration, or development
    • 3+ years working in education administration and/or leadership
    • Current or previous experience working with dual credit programs, including early college high schools
    • Current or previous experience working with online instructional programming
    • Current or previous experience with designing and conducting program evaluation
    • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
    • Demonstrated capability to work both semi-independently and as a team member

Other Desirable Skills

    • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel & Word
    • Desktop publishing, including inDesign and Photoshop

EEDW Program Administrator

Position Filled

Grant-funded position through REC-1’s federally funded Extending Equity into the Digital Workforce, a 4-year project to prepare students for high-paying jobs or continued education in information technologies, specifically cybersecurity.

This position is primarily focused on coordinating and implementing EEDW throughout New Mexico’s early college high schools. The Program Administrator is a member of the EEDW Executive Leadership Team and will oversee the Business IT Coordinator.

The program administrator will be hired through Farmington Municipal Schools (our employment agent for this project) but serve under the direction of the REC-1 project director.

Annual Salary: $85,000 + benefits
12-month term
Location: May be remote

          • NM 3-B educator license

This position is primarily focused on establishing business partnerships and project activities related to business and industry partners.

The business IT coordinator will be hired through Farmington Municipal Schools (our employment agent for this project) but serve under the direction of the EEDW project director through the EEDW Program Administrator.

This position is primarily focused on supporting project operations. Project Administrative Support will be hired through Farmington Municipal Schools (our employment agent for this project) but serve under the direction of the EEDW project director.

Location: REC-1 program office (at Farmington Municipal Schools district facilities)

          • 5+ years of experience in operational or administrative support positions
          • Experience working in a school or education-related administrative position
          • Strong Excel and electronic file management skills
          • Exceptional organizational skills
